OSUNA trio celebrates the 1st European Folk Day on the 23rd September 2023 with this new music videoclip featuring Sand Artist De Zandmuze. The videoclip premieres at 12 a.m. that same day.

We will bring the song Selam Olsun based on poetry of Yunus Emre (1240-1321), one of the most important mystical Sufi poets of Anatolia.

The melody was originally composed by Lütfü Gültekin, and is sung here by his son Emre in an arrangement of Osuna.

Osuna are Thomas Baeté (medieval viol), Emre Gültekin (saz, voice), Raphaël De Cock (Siberian “chatkhan” zither, voice)

Osuna interweaves Anatolian strings with those from South Siberia and strings from bygone eras. A symbiosis of Anatolian stringed instruments (saz, tanbur), Siberian harps (Khakas chatkhan) and medieval European string instruments and voices produces a musically surprising tapestry of sounds.

In their latest album they follow Marco Polo along the Silk Road in collaboration with a Sand Artist that shows the journey visually with live projected Sandscapes.
