The basic characteristic of this festival is its ethnomusicological heterogeneity, which is not known by any other cultural space in Europe. Through this Festival, the 26 national communities of Vojvodina with their authentic cultural values and traditions, together with the indigenous and very diverse colonist and newly settled Serbian ethnos, reflect today’s real cultural map of Vojvodina in their wealth of folk creative art. Through this festival, the folk creativity of the Vojvodina village, where folk creativity originated, is mostly affirmed and improved.
The main characteristic of this manifestation – the heterogeneity of creativity of 26 national communities from the area of Vojvodina, came to the fore in the presentation of folk dances, the performance of folk songs and the playing of various traditional musical instruments.
Among these current performing practices of local communities, registered elements of Serbia’s intangible cultural heritage were also presented: singing to the accompaniment of the Gusle, clamor singing, Pipe-Playing practice and Ojkača singing.
About 1,200 participants from 29 places in Vojvodina will gather in the three festival days.
