The members of the Turku Folks! – Åbo Folks! folk music orchestra take playing very seriously but with a joyous relaxed attitude! The orchestra’s versatile and freshly arranged repertoire consists of authentic Finnish danceable music, from polski to katrills and sleigh songs to tangos. The orchestra is open to all instruments and players, however they want and have time, and welcomes all and everyone who is interested in participating in the activities of the orchestra – the most important thing is that the playing sounds good and the singing is fresh.

The open community was founded in 2017 and today more than 200 musicians, from beginners to music professionals, interested in playing together and singing have already become a memeber of the community.

On September 23d, Turku Folks! – Åbo Folks! Orchestra will hold a public rehearsal at Kaarina-talo in the center of the City of Kaarina. In its public rehearsals, the orchestra is preparing for the concerts of the winter season 2023-2024. There will be both repetition of the summer 2023 repertoire and familiarization with new material.

The event takes place in the lobby of Kaarina house. Admission to the event is free – welcome!
