The musical worlds of each of the musicians\, who share a common classical heritage and a love of traditional European music and dance\, have enabled them to develop a duo with a unique language and a distinctive aesthetic\, full of finesse and energy. The influence of dance in their music allows them to offer a repertoire suited to intimate concerts\, small gatherings and festivals alike. Discover their compositions and a few traditional songs rearranged with finesse on their first album\, Radio Lambert! \n\nJuliette Ferreira: Flutes\, vocals\nLolita Pariaud: Accordion\, stompbox\, vocals\n\nIt was undoubtedly written somewhere that Didier Laloy\, a pupil of Bruno Le Tron at the age of 13\, would one day play with him. With Tref (accompanied by Wim Claeys and Frédéric Malempré) and Les Samuraï (one of Europe’s finest accordion quintets)\, they have had the opportunity to prove that they are both giants of the diatonic accordion. But when they perform as a duo\, the result is a perfect\, balanced partnership that shares folk music at the height of its art. DESCRIPTION:engaged folk music from Wales \nJulie Murphy and Ceri Rhys Matthews are among the pioneers of Welsh folk music. They met at art school in 1979. They have lived in Pencader\, a small Welsh-speaking village in Carmarthenshire\, for over thirty years.  Many of their songs and melodies reflect the history and cultural life of the area. It is music rooted in place and language\, but the themes of love\, loss\, joy and struggle are universal.  \nCeri Rhys has also devoted himself to making musical instruments. He has researched and learned melodies that originated in his village and evolved in the larger town\, Dolgellau. Hundreds of melodies created by dozens of people\, shared memories and imaginations. Ceri Rhys Matthews has recorded over 25 CDs and performs as a solo artist\, with the band Fernhill he founded in 1995\, and also as a duo with Julie Murphy. \nJulie Murphy is a singer-songwriter from Wales with a long career. She is known for her remarkable\, contemporary interpretations of Welsh folk songs and her very personal\, yet politically engaged lyrics. She is a founding member of the Welsh folk band Fernhill. With the band\, but also solo and with numerous other projects\, she has performed in many countries\, not only in Europe and Canada\, but also in countries & areas such as Pakistan\, Sudan\, Gaza\, the West Bank\, Brunei\, Myanmar\, South Africa and Vietnam.  \nTIME OUT magazine called her a singer you absolutely must see and hear. Her remarkable voice\, which is hauntingly beautiful one moment and dark and mysterious the next\, has led to collaborations with John Cale and Robert Plant\, among others. \nThis concert takes place as part of the European Folk Day 2025.

Ezen az alkalmon kiegészülnek a programok a Verbunk Napjának ünneplésével is. \nVerbunk Napja \n2019 őszén a verbunk tánchagyománya felkerült az UNESCO Szellemi Kulturális Örökség Nemzeti Jegyzékébe. E jeles elismerést ünnepelve és a hagyományt továbbéltetve idén a Hagyományok Háza Táncháza ad otthont a Verbunk Napjának. Az est során a hajdúnánási Aranyszalma Néptáncegyüttes kalauzolja a közönséget a rábaközi\, felcsíki és szatmári verbunk\, valamint csárdás gazdag tánchagyományába. A határokon átívelő rendezvénysorozat budapesti állomásán a résztvevők három tájegység legszebb táncait élvezhetik egy estben\, valódi élményt kapva a magyar népi kultúra sokszínűségéből. \nBeavató táncház\nA nagy hagyományokkal rendelkező\, beavató táncház mindenki számára lehetővé teszi\, hogy megismerkedjen az adott napon sorra kerülő falvak népzenéjével\, néptáncával\, és olyan közösségi szórakozásban legyen része\, amelynek során mindig újabb és újabb ismeretekre tehet szert. \nTáncházainkban nagy hangsúlyt fektetünk a tánctanításra\, a táncoslábú érdeklődők több hónapon keresztül\, kiváló oktatóktól tanulhatják egy-egy tájegység táncát. A ciklusok zárásait bállal ünnepeljük meg\, és minden alkalomra meghívjuk az adott tájegységről származó helyi zenészeket is. DESCRIPTION:Join us on a musical journey into Norwegian America!Fiddlers Laura Ellestad and Beth Hoven Rotto will take you into the tunes and stories of Norwegian emigrants who settled in the Upper Midwest of the USA – including the states of Iowa\, Minnesota\, and Wisconsin. Folk music guitarist Magnus Wiik joins them on stage. Naustedalen Spelemannslag rounds off the concert and leads into dance and open jam\, where everyone is welcome to join in. \nProgram in Sersjantløa: \n6:00–7:30 PM: Concert with Laura Ellestad\, Beth Hoven Rotto\, Magnus Wiik\, and Naustedalen Spelemannslag \n7:30–9:00 PM: Open dance floor and jam session – bring your dancing shoes and instruments! \n\nAbout the musicians: \nBeth Hoven Rotto has played in the folk music group Foot-Notes in Decorah\, Iowa\, for over 30 years. She has performed at local dance events in Decorah such as Nordic Fest and the Highlandville Schoolhouse Dances\, as well as on major national stages like the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington\, D.C. Beth was a student of the renowned Norwegian-American fiddler Bill Sherburne\, and in recent years she has taught apprentices and students in various courses. She has received support from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and the American Scandinavian Foundation. In 2024\, she helped develop the exhibition “Hand Me Down the Fiddle: Norwegian Fiddlers\, Fiddles and Fiddle Tunes” at Vesterheim Museum in Decorah. \nLaura Ellestad is an award-winning Canadian/Norwegian Hardanger fiddler with roots in Valdres. In 2014\, she released her first solo album\, “Valdresspel i Amerika”\, which was nominated for both the Spellemann Award and the Folkelarm Award. The album features tunes from five Valdres fiddlers who emigrated to America in the late 19th century. Through her doctoral research\, she has studied the Norwegian-American folk music community in the Midwest during the first half of the 20th century. Since 2018\, she has been employed as Associate Professor at the Department of Traditional Arts and Folk Music\, University of South-Eastern Norway\, Rauland campus.

SUMMARY:The Canberra Eurosession [concert]
DESCRIPTION:When the world went online\, Canberra’s musical horizons expanded. Our session leader\, flautist Adam Fenech\, was up in the early hours of the morning\, meeting musicians and learning tunes from across the world over Zoom. With the help of ethnomusicologists\, balfolk dance groups\, and local Canberra musicians\, we have created a session unlike any other. Our repertoire is a broad cross-section of folk dance tunes spanning centuries\, borders and folk traditions from all corners of Europe\, and in this concert as part of European Folk Day\, we’d love to share it with you. \n\nSince the time difference will mean that (like some of the sessions that inspired ours) it may prove to be during the unsociable hours of the morning\, we will post clips of tunes from the concert on our Facebook page in the days afterwards.

Organizzato da Ass Cult Gruppo Spontaneo Trallalero e i principali enti Liguri. Direzione artistica Laura Parodi e Ilaria Laruccia \nMichele Piccione con “Sulle orme dei suoni” condurrà il pubblico in un viaggio nella cultura musicale tradizionale proveniente da diverse parti del nostro pianeta\, attraverso oltre 20 strumenti musicali tradizionali che nei secoli sono stati prodotti e  che prendono voce e raccontano di antiche sapienze e maestrie\, leggende e storie tramandate di bocca in bocca\, di generazione in generazione\, diventando i testimoni viventi del passato e del presente\, raccontando di donne\, di uomini\, di contatti e scambi fra popoli e culture diverse\, di riti arcaici eppure ancora vivi e attuali come accade ad esempio in molte feste tradizionali. Strumenti come i Tamburi a Cornice italiani (di cui ne è didatta)\, Darbuka egiziana\, Tombak persiano\, Zampogne italiane\, Flauti di canna\, Flauti armonici\, Gaita Gallega (Galizia-Spagna)\, Cornamusa Scozzese\, Duduk Armeno\, Hulusi (Cina)\, Ghironda (Europa)\, Lira Calabrese\, Chitarra Battente (Sud Italia)\, Marranzani (varie parti del Mondo).
