For example\, €15 per person\nLocation: Theater De Kapel in the Old Roman Catholic Hospital (ORKZ)\,\nEmmastraat 15\, 9722 EW Groningen\nInstructions: Yes\, at 7:30 p.m.\nBalfolk Groningen is dancing to live folk music and of course session afterwards: so bring your instruments too!\nAdmission: voluntary donation\, such as € 15\,- Give generously\, because everything goes 100% to musicians.\nGlobal timetable:\n19:30 Dance workshop\n20:30 Ball\n22:30 session\n23:00 end of program\n(Times subject to change)\nDance explanation\nIn this dance tutorial the basics of balfolk are covered so that everyone can do me. In the second half of the dance explanation\, they go deeper into one dance. \nWhat is Balfolk?\nBalfolk can perhaps be compared to a tango or salsa evening\, but with the music and dances from here: the dances and music that are traditionally found in Western Europe. The strings of the mandola are central … They are accompanied by the emotional sound of the duduk and keys. Every instrument is put through a looping station and some effects are added. This way musical lines are interwoven to form a unity … Sometimes the sound is subdued and soft\, sometimes it is sparkling and exuberant. On the menu is totally new folk music\, with spicy influences from other genres. The result is a contemporary folk\, based on tradition and experiences with and influences by other bands.
