DESCRIPTION:Welcome everybody to our opening party ! \nWe are very excited to present you with our new dance hall with parquet floor\, just across the street to Genval train station (20 minutes from Brussels and from Ottignies). \nYou can choose between 1\, 2\, or even 3 activities\, plus a picnic at lunchtime and a shared buffet meal in the evening.\nSo\, treat yourself! \n10:30-15:00 Folk dance workshop for beginners\, the curious\, and dance lovers…\nWith or without a partner\, come discover some of our most popular dances: the Scottish\, mazurka\, rondeau\, and bourrée\, Breton and Poitou dances all together\, and of course some fun mixers where you constantly change partners\, like the cercle circassien and the Chapelleloise. Shared picnic at lunchtime. \n16:00-17:00 Silent movie & live music by Benjamin Macke\nDo not miss this very rare and beautiful occasion !\nSilent film screening accompanied live by Benjamin Macke on the diatonic accordion.\nBurlesque films\, animated films\, westerns…\nBring your chair or cushion (and even popcorn if you want 🙂 ) \n17:00 Shared meal – bring food and drinks to share\n(We sell no drinks\, but there is a night shop right across the street) \n18:30 Folk Ball with Duo Macke-Bornauw\nWe are delighted to open the new season with our dear friends Benjamin and Birgit!\nBirgit Bornauw (one of the best bagpipe players of her generation in Belgium) and Benjamin Macke (Shillelagh among others)\, when the powerful\, warm\, and surprisingly sweet sound of the Flemish bagpipes meets the sometimes delicate\, sometimes wild playing of the diatonic accordion… A folk ball with varied dances\, all the great classics will be there. \nOur folk dances are always open to all!
