SUMMARY:The Woods: a weekend folk music workshop
DESCRIPTION:Dig out your musical instrument and join us in “The Woods”.  Aberdeen Folk Orchestra is delighted that Ron Gibson has agreed to workshop “The Woods”\, a beautiful suite of music composed by Hamish Napier. There will be sheet music for all traditional instruments including woodwind and brass\, and any musicians at intermediate and more advanced levels are welcome. \nThe workshop takes place on 4-5th October. Our venue is the Phoenix Theatre\, Newton Dee Village\, Aberdeen\, AB15 9DX and the weekend will culminate in a free concert showcasing the music; family and friends most welcome. \nFor those who can manage beforehand\, there will be two other opportunities to run through the music. These take place on the evenings of Thursday 25th September and Thursday 2nd October at Aberdeen Folk Orchestra’s regular rehearsal venue: Hazlehead Primary School\, Provost Graham Avenue\, Aberdeen\, AB15 8HB. \nPlease email afo.thewoods@gmail.com to register your interest\, letting us know which instrument/s you play. \nMore information and sign-up forms will sent be out mid-August.
