DESCRIPTION:From September 25 to 28\, Union in Copenhagen will transform into a vibrant hub of Latin American music and culture. The ninth edition of Sonamos Latinoamérica offers four days of a rich and diverse program – from intimate concerts and musical talks to festive dance nights. \nOver the past nine years\, the festival has presented more than 120 musicians from 15 countries. This year\, the audience will once again experience a wide spectrum of musical diversity – from Brazil’s deep roots to Colombia’s folk traditions and Argentina’s folk dances. \nThis year’s program presents both international and local artists: \n\nThursday 25/9: Gaddafi Núñez (PE) – Music and literature in memory of writer Eduardo Galeano.\nFriday 26/9: Maia Castro (URU) – Tango\, milonga\, zamba. Music from the Río de la Plata.\nSaturday 27/9 (free talk): Priscilla Barbosa (BRA) – On the contributions of black Brazilian women to music beyond bossa nova.\nSaturday 27/9 evening: Aleteos (COL) & Priscilla Barbosa (BRA) – A sensuous journey through the musical traditions of two countries.\nSunday 28/9: ForróNovo (BRA) & Munay (ARG) – Closing dance party with Brazilian forró and Argentine folk music.\n\n

DESCRIPTION:The VIII International Music Festival Sonamos Latinoamérica 2024 concludes in style at Union\, Nørrebro\, on Saturday\, September 28 at 7:00 PM. Audiences can look forward to a festive evening filled with modern Latin American rhythms and a special focus on supporting sustainability projects in Guatemala. \nCalle Mambo: Fusion of Latin American Folklore and Electronic Music \nThe highlight of the evening is the Chilean group Calle Mambo\, which combines traditional Latin American folklore with modern electronic beats and urban music. Their unique sound universe breaks genre boundaries and creates a sound that resonates with both the soul and the body. The group has gained wide recognition for its ability to fuse the best of Latin America’s musical traditions with contemporary trends\, ensuring a festive and captivating concert experience. \nMusic for a Good Cause \nThis evening is not just about music. Proceeds from the sale of beverages will go to support Building Communities’ sustainability projects in Guatemala\, aimed at promoting reforestation and sustainable initiatives in the region.
