European Folk Day – September the 23rd

Quai 33 is a new folk dance venue with parquet floor,
right across the train station of Genval (20 minutes from Brussels and from Ottignies).
This will be a chance to arrive at a leisurely pace, stock the buffet with drinks and/or snacks, and get to know a few people while chatting.
Julie has degrees in musicology and saxophone, with theater training on the side. Since she was young, she has cultivated a passion for the accordion, her signature instrument, which she masters self-taught and incorporates into her artistic projects.
Come discover this new talent, recently arrived in Belgium, and her ball, which combines compositions and arrangements inspired by neo-folk and Balkan music.
Let’s mix it !
Everybody welcome, with or without dance experience or dance partner.
If necessary, Elena will explain one or two dances.
Everyone brings snacks (without plates or cutlery), and drinks to share. There are cups on site, nothing else.
There’s a night shop right next door for your last-minute shopping!
Please note: we sell no drinks, there are only the drinks you bring.
Bring your musical instruments, your voice, your percussion instruments…
No reservations
Please contribute by the hat, ideally around €10 per person.
