Traditional and balfolk dances – Balfolk place, long edition

At the end of September, organization “BalTfolk” will organize regular event “Balfolk Placis” (eng. – balfolk place), but this time it will happen almost whole day!

We’ll start dancing at 3:00 PM with dance workshops.
First workshop – to give an introduction for every newcommer, and those who want to practice basic steps.
Second workshop with a dance expert from Lithuania Arturas Puskunigis, who will introduce us to some balfolk dances we haven’t explored yet.

At 6.30 PM any musician ir warmly invited to join the Open Stage. Whether you’re learning an instrument and would like to share your skills with an audience, or you are a musician who has learned some new dance tunes and wants to try them out on dancers, or maybe you are a new duo or trio eager to perform together for the first time – the Open Stage is for you! Each musician or group can sign up to perform up to three traditional, balfolk or original dance music pieces. Don’t hesitate to join in!

The afternoon will fly by with music, dancing, good company, and delicious treats from the market. During the breaks between workshops and live music, there will be plenty of opportunities to practise the dances you’ve learned to some of the best balfolk recordings.

At 8.00 PM to conclude an perfect evening, the amazing Rahu Dance Trio will take the stage and keep the dance floor buzzing!
