Heritage House Days 2026 – 2nd day

September 26
This fall, the Swallows’ Flight Festival—the Hungarian Heritage House’s new two-day multidisciplinary arts event where tradition meets contemporary culture—will take flight for the first time. On September 25–26, the Buda Vigadó and the surrounding streets will come alive with music, dance, and communal celebration. This large-scale series of events, which appeals to all age groups with its interactive programs, also serves as a joint celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Hungarian Heritage House, the 75th anniversary of the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble, and the 125th anniversary of the Buda Vigadó.

This festival, marked by a series of anniversaries, celebrates the end of summer, the joy of the harvest, the swallows’ departure, and the hope of a fresh start. Drawing inspiration from tradition, the festival brings together contemporary and folk art programs so that every visitor can find activities to suit their tastes. For two days, the Buda Vigadó and the surrounding streets are transformed into a true festival venue. Spectacular concerts, festive galas, unique guided tours, breathtaking evening performances, unconventional dance parties, video light shows, and—on Saturday—a musical parade enliven the neighborhood. The institution’s network in the Carpathian Basin will be showcased through a network exhibition featuring a multi-tactile table titled “Storytelling Objects,” and the event will also be linked to the “Researchers’ Night” program series through numerous educational presentations. The two-day program becomes a true family experience with a bustling fair atmosphere, craft workshops, community art projects, a storytelling tent, a food corner, a giant puzzle, a family treasure hunt, a library sound bath, games from Fabatka Porta and Merende Workshop, and special outdoor activities.

Let’s celebrate the last moments of summer together! Let’s meet at the Budai Vigadó, where tradition isn’t just a memory but a shared experience—through music, dance, creativity, and connections. Because the most beautiful traditions are the ones we experience together.
