A snake in a banana, a mouse in a glass

On Contemporary or Urban Legends—An Online Educational Lecture

On Wednesday, September 23, 2026, starting at 7:00 p.m., we invite all adult fairy tale enthusiasts to join our online program for a joint event featuring the series “The Life of Folk Tales Today” and the Meseszó Association’s series “ÉLŐSZÓVAL: What You Need to Know About Fairy Tales,” titled “A Snake in the Banana, a Mouse in the Glass. On Contemporary or Urban Legends.” In 2026, we will dedicate our series to epic folklore genres related to or enriching folk tales. Our guest in September is Éva Mikos, a folklorist and senior research fellow at the Institute of Ethnography at ELTE HTK, whose primary areas of research include folklore studies and the cultural and intellectual-historical contexts of historical and contemporary legends.
