European Folk Day – September the 23rd
CARA is an international band with Irish, Scottish and German members. The band has toured the world with unique interpretations of Celtic music, firmly rooted in the Irish and Scottish tradition. CARA presents innovative arrangements of traditional material alongside original compositions.
With two female lead singers at the front, CARA combines vocals, piano, violin, flute, guitar, uilleann pipes and accordion. They have performed at some of the largest Irish music festivals in the USA, Australia, Germany, Ireland, Scotland, England, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland and Denmark.
With two Irish Music Awards, the “Freiburger Leiter” award, the “Kaarster Stern” 2020 (the cultural award from the German city of Kaarst), six studio and two live albums and countless performances, CARA navigates effortlessly between traditional folk, singer/songwriter, nu-folk and acoustic pop.
