KurkiTrio is a violin trio founded in 2022 that plays lively folk music. The trio consists of folk musicians Eemeli Pruiksma, Henrica Westerholm, and Touko Kentala. In addition to traditional folk repertoire, the band plays musical gems from around the world, arranges all their own music, and also performs their own compositions.
The trio released their debut album, Kurkimetsä, in May 2026. On the expressive new album, you can hear the trio’s rich folk rhythms, but also delicate interpretations and a dive into archaic and world music whirlwinds.
