Live Music Now Scotland Participatory Performance with Niamh Corkey

As part of European Folk Day, Live Music Now Scotland is sharing live folk and traditional music with adults living with acquired brain injuries in Dundee.

Singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Niamh Corkey brings together Scottish and Irish traditional music with influences from jazz, country and classical music. Drawing on her family’s folk music traditions, Niamh creates a varied and welcoming musical experience, combining traditional songs with music from across her repertoire.

Through Live Music Now Scotland, Niamh shares music in settings where live performance can create opportunities for connection, participation and enjoyment. This performance is part of our ongoing programme of participatory music sessions for people who may face barriers to accessing live music.

European Folk Day celebrates the many traditions, voices and musical cultures that make up folk music across Europe — and we’re pleased to be marking the day by sharing music in a community setting in Dundee.
