Söndörgö – The stunning world of the Tambura

The spirit of Béla Bartok is alive. The new record: In Residence at MÜPA captures a defining moment in Söndörgő’s artistic journey. Selected as Ensemble of the Season by Müpa Budapest for 2025–2026, they curated three headline concerts in the National Concert Hall, joined by outstanding guest artists, among others, Michael League, Jay Jennings, and Chris Bullock of Snarky Puppy, Márta Sebestyén, Bako Jovanović, Fercho Mustafov and Branka Básits. The concert series unfolded across three musical worlds, folk, classical, and jazz, reflects Söndörgő’s artistic language. Grit Friedrich talked with Áron Eredics about new and old adventures around the iconic instrument of their band, the Tambura.
