Pirate Equinox in Ukraine

An educational and entertainment event on the theme of Ukrainian and Celtic singing traditions, and a concert by the band Monday Shanty in the setting of a pirate party.

What we have:
1) International Talk Like a Pirate Day fell on Friday;
2) European Folk Day fell on Tuesday;
3) Monday Shanty band sings only on Mondays;
4) September equinox almost fell on Monday;
5) We learned a new song and found a stash of rum;

What’s the result:
Pirate equinox with rum and singing!

The Monday Shanty band offers to celebrate the turn of the sun to winter in the company of lovers of sea songs, Celtic ballads, Ukrainian polyphony and rum!

As part of #europeanfolkday2025, the group will hold a singing workshop. We will learn one Irish and one Ukrainian song and immediately perform it all together under the guidance of Antonina Vinnyk. Also during the performance, band will talk about the vocal traditions in Ukraine compared to Celtic
