European Folk Night Luxembourg 2026

On Wednesday 23 September 2026, Authentica is hosting a European Folk Night (concert & bal folk) in Luxembourg City, as part of European Folk Day, an initiative of the European Folk Network. Authentica is the artist name of Italian-Luxembourgish musician and composer Martina Menichetti (vocals, flutes, whistles, keys), who weaves Luxembourg’s folk traditions together with Mediterranean rhythms and Celtic influences. Guests of the evening are Belgium’s award-winning Hartwin Trio, making a stop in Luxembourg as part of their European tour. Award-winning musicians Hartwin Dhoore (diatonic accordion), Flavia Escartin (cello) and Pavel Souvandjiev (violin) are renowned for their cinematic instrumental folk, and have captivated audiences on stages and at bal folks across the continent. Authentica is the first Luxembourgish artist to perform at Glasgow’s Celtic Connections festival, has shared stages with Carlos Núñez and Dan Ar Braz, and has opened for Afro Celt Sound System, Sharon Shannon, Mànran, Startijenn, Red Cardell and Gwennyn. Authentica is a member of the European Folk Network, and beyond recordings and international touring, her work includes leading collective music-making experiences and multidisciplinary, multilingual workshops for all ages, from intimate groups to large-scale projects.
