European Folk Day – September the 23rd

You lock away the patient
And you banish all the arts
Stole your little fires
While a bigger fire starts
You blame another foreigner
And you lock up all the girls
Ban the revolution
And deny a warmer world
You collect more of your paper
And you throw ours to the wall
Sorry’s they come later
If they ever come at all
And we know there isn’t candour
We know there isn’t truth
We know of imperfection
But you never harbour proof
So why do we take it
Will it all just turn to glass
The ceiling will shatter
And the world is on its ass.
