European Folk Day – September the 23rd

The popular Kaarina Folk event returns this September!
Kaarina Folk folk music festival, which is free and open to everyone, drew a large crowd to Kaarina House last year. This year, the event will feature some of the loudest prophets of Nordic instrumental post-folk, Luomuduo, ethnopop artist and multi-instrumentalist Vilma Talvitie, and Akkajee, who was named Folk Music Creator of the Year in 2022.
During the festival, there will also be a chance to participate in various workshops. The festivities will kick off with a workshop on playing by ear, led by Marjaana Puurtinen, the driving force behind Turku Folk. The workshops are open to all and free of charge. The folk dance group Fyyrkantti will perform at the event and also lead a folk dance workshop.
Throughout the day, various folk music ensembles will perform in the lobby of Kaarina House.
Free entry – welcome!
